Honey Mill Farm - Ron Rhyner

My Pick Verified Local Farmer

- no herbicides - no pesticides

Ron is a retired Dairy Farmer who has always had a dream of growing vegetables for market.  This dream has had Ron gardening for about 10 years now, and the vegetable gardens have grown to about 6 acres.  Honey Mill Farm is in North Waldhof which is located between Dryden & Vermilion Bay.

WE GROW WHAT WE SELL NATURALLY.  No herbicides or pesticides.  We grow a wide variety of vegetables and they are all weeded by tiller, hoe and by hand.   We offer our vegetables for sale at Markets in Dryden, Oxdrift, Kenora & Sioux Lookout as well as selling on the Cloverbelt Local Food Co-op and at the farm gate.  We are licenced under the CFIA to sell FARM FRESH - FREE RANGE - BROWN EGGS!  In the summer, we offer PASTURE RAISED - GRAIN FED PORK for sale.  Both the chickens and the pork are fed the greens from our market garden.  Keeping honey bees helps with the pollination and the honey in the fall is a bonus!

Give us a call at 227-2872 and if we are home, we are open!

Check us out on Facebook!

We're only a couple miles off the highway...Take North Waldhof, turn left at the fork onto Old School Rd - #259 you'll see our greenhouses.

It's worth the drive . . . you can't "Eat Fresh - Eat Local" any better than right out of the field.

"From our Farm to Your Table..Thank you for supporting YOUR LOCAL FARMER!"

Mel Fisher

A retired farmer who says that organic is mostly an advertising term, but who believes in growing things in as natural a way as is practical, without use of toxic chemicals. An ‘urban gardener’, with a commercial-size garden next to his house in town, plus some rural lands.

Specializes in swiss chard, cabbage, and lettuce, also provides a variety of interesting products including some herbs.

Penner Farm

Penner Farm started their farm development on beautiful Rice Lake in 2009 with the purchase of an old Massey Harris farm tractor, a two-bottom plow and a disc harrow.  Some land had been cleared with home and yard improvement and gave an opportunity to try growing potatoes and corn on a larger scale than their small garden.

At that time, it did not seem like a move toward marketing heritage vegetables, but a few trips to another local producer's farm over a few years stimulated the interest in growing market-ready vegetables to where they are today!

Penner Farm does not use any chemicals on their farm for vegetable production and this means healthy, clean produce for you when you buy your heritage vegetables from Penner Farm.  Stop in at the farm on Ghost Lake Road or meet them at the Cloverbelt Country Farmer's Market this summer!

Rhyner's Green Acres

Sherwood Family Farm

Sherwood Farm is a family owned and operated farm specializing in delicious vegetables. They are regulars at the CCFM and if you try their produce, you probably will be too!

Wall's Farm

Bob & Tim operate a farm 4 miles south of Oxdrift and 1/2 mile south of Hwy 594. We raise organic pork and vegetables. We currently have one 30'X100' greenhouse and about 3 acres of garden.  This season we have tripled our asparagus patch and added 1000 strawberry plants and are hoping to get a second greenhouse in operation. We try to keep 150 pigs of various sizes to supply our customers and for our pig roasts.  Visitors are always wecome at the farm. Plan to see us every week at the Oxdrift CCFM!

Wicken's Lake Sunshine
